Offshore Field Service Engineer - Dynamic Positioning

This role will liaise between main office and customers from South-East Asia, Oceania and other part of the world on all aspects of pre-commissioning/commissioning, maintenance and operation of Kongsberg’s Dynamic Positioning product range.

Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide customer support, commissioning, and service on assigned Kongsberg Maritime Dynamic Positioning/Bridge product range.
- Remote Support: Offer technical assistance through desk or mobile devices as required by KM Global Customer Support worldwide framework.
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain good relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and future business opportunities.
- Work Preparation and Execution: Properly prepare for and execute assigned work, ensuring it is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Documentation and Reporting: Generate service reports, update drawings, cable information databases, and other documentation as necessary.
- Performance Monitoring: Ensure that performance standards are met at all times, striving for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
- Relevant experience in customer service is preferred.
- Technical hands-on experience in maritime industry with background in automation, navigation, bridge, or DP systems.
- Technical experience with marine / offshore environmental sensors (preferred)
- Technical experience or understand marine positioning system (preferred)

- Communication Skills: Good written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
- Customer Service Etiquette: Good customer etiquette and a customer-oriented approach to handling inquiries and issues.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in basic MS Office applications and a strong understanding of computer network systems/topology.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of on-board system processes, experience with radio and electrical equipment operation and interference, or experience with C++ Programming (considered an advantage).
- Flexibility and Travel: Willingness to travel for overseas assignments, including the ability to travel on short notice.
