Our Global Customer Support division is responsible for Kongsberg Maritimes services, upgrades, and support in the aftermarket. Our 2300 employees are present in 35 different countries around the world. During the operational lifetime of more than 30.000 installations, we ensure cost-efficient delivery of services, upgrades, and spare parts to secure availability and predictability to our customers. The Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHS&E) department is a part of the KM Global Customer Support division.

QHS&E’s main area of expertise lies within supporting the business to achieve its goals safely, in compliance to internal and external requirements and providing expertise for risk management and control in the many areas of KM support.

The HS&E Safety Technician reports to the Operational Excellence Manager – Brazil and shall provide guidance and support to ensure all activities are caried out safely, in compliance to internal and external regulations, as well as supporting the business on investigations, improvements and data collection and analysis.

Main responsibilities:
• Familiarize and understand HS&E regulations and requirements that are applicable to the KM work scope in Brazil.
• Be a driver for the active use of the KM supporting tools (ARIS, Learning Portal, Synergi, Workday) aiming at positive management of cases and actions.
• Be an active participant on internal and external activities playing a key role in observing, guiding and managing risks to the best business performance.
• Guiding training activities with employees to ensure both, compliance to requirement, but also to risk mitigation and process improvement.
• Support environmental monitoring and action thereof.
• Have precise communication of any issues and concerns to ensure clarity in understanding and controlled communication.
• Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for HS&E addressing reporting requirements and related actions.


Authority:
• STOP WORK in case a high-risk situation is observed offering support in understanding the situation and being an active participant in addressing possible solutions for the issue observed.
• Be a appoint of contact for HS&E related matters providing guidance and support as required.
• Drive and report improvements to mitigate risk and/or improve process.
• Monitor contractors to ensure compliance to requirement as well as positive HS&E behavior and support.
• Create reports to monitor HS&E KPIs communicating them as appropriate to relevant stakeholders.
• Guide and support the facility in compliance requirements, improvements and correction being attentive to the closure of HS&E cases/requests in the company systems.

Qualifications:
• Registered Safety Technician accordingly to Brazilian legislation.
• Advanced English skills - written and spoken.
• Fluent written and spoken in Portuguese (Brasil)
• Knowledge about most subjects within the discipline.
• Good knowledge regarding various classification requirements.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in comparable mechanical/electrical industry.
